The green revolution in Copenhagen
Urban spaces and projects for a more sustainable world.
The nature has an important role and it is capable of merging with human beings creating an ideal place where beauty resides. To preserve it, however, it is not enough just to look at the landscape, but we have to act to give our own positive contribution. Whether it is engaging yourself in the start-up of an urban farm, in the construction of a playground on the roof of a parking lot, in the collection of waste while doing sport, it deals in all cases with small steps that can create a better and more sustainable world. Our daily actions have a huge impact on the environment in which we live. This experience will make you not only discover how environmental challenges are faced in Copenhagen, but it will also be an opportunity to inspire you to lead a more attentive life towards the other people and the space around you. If you love nature, you are already one step ahead, but it is not enough just to observe it and talk about its beauty. It is necessary to become aware of our power in channeling events towards the right path. During this guided tour you will know the role nature has in Danish life and what are the projects and behaviours with low environmental impact. Among others, we will visit urban farms, playgrounds located in unexpected locations, shops which fight food waste and used clothing stores. The keywords that will accompany us during this exploration will be reuse and recycling. Giving a new life to those materials that still have a potential for use, both in our little world or thinking bigger, is definitely a solution to reduce pollution and avoid overloading the production chain. We will move from one place to another sitting comfortably on the saddle of our bicycle because this is the means that best represents sustainable travel in our cities while allowing us to cover quite long distances.
The technical itinerary may undergo changes in order to improve the guided experience. In addition, specific stops at the several sites of interest (museums, shops, showrooms, galleries, churches) - where expected - are subject to availability on the day and time of the visit. The chronological order of visits may be changed even at the last moment if circumstances require it, while maintaining the contents of the program unchanged.

- How does this guided tour take place?
The ideal way to carry out this tour is by bicycle. However, we can arrange it differently upon your explicit request (e.g. bicycle, private car, private minivan).
- Do I need to take care of renting a bicycle and a helmet?
No, you do not. We will take care of that. However, if you prefer to rent a bicycle by your own, you are welcome to do so. Just let us know so we can better organise.
- How long will I have the bicycle at disposal?
In case we rent, the bicycle will be at disposal during the guided tour.
- Where will the tour start/end?
In case we rent, the tour will start/end at the rental shop. If you rent, we can agree accordingly.
- I know how to bike, but I don’t bike usually. Is it safe to bike in Copenhagen?
More than half of the population commutes by bicycle in Copenhagen. It is completely normal to use the bicycle and the urban design allows to do so in a safe way. The bike lanes are nearly everywhere and they have space enough. Cars watch out for cyclists. However, you need to know how to bike to enjoy the tour with no stress and to not turn the experience into a stressful situation for the others and the guide.
- Is it mandatory to use the helmet?
No, it is not, but it is warmly recommended. You are free to use it or not, but we will ask you to wear it for safety reasons.
- What happens if I hurt myself during the bike tour?
Let us tell you that we have never had accidents during a bicycle tour so far. The pace of the guided tour, thanks to the experience of the guide, will perfectly fit your possibilities. Having said that, if you still hurt yourself (e.g. you fall off the bicycle), we will evaluate the seriousness of the situation on the spot. If necessary, we will call for help; otherwise, we will continue the visit, after taking a short break. We remind you that no cause of this kind is attributable to A Spasso with Elena, therefore for a total protection, we recommend that you make a travel insurance that covers unfortunate events.
- Is there anything I have to bring?
We kindly ask you to bring with you a bottle of water (possibly to be filled during the tour instead of a disposable one) as most of the tastings do not include a drink. In this way, you will be never thirsty. If you do not bring a bottle, you will be able to buy some during the tour, at your expense.
- Will there be time for a lunch break?
Yes, we certainly plan to hold a lunch break. In this very case, we will have a quick bite. Our break will be approximately 30-45 minutes long. If you prefer that we take care of arranging your lunch at a Danish restaurant so you can try typical food, let us know. We will be happy to satisfy your expectations. Please remember that in this case, the total duration of the tour will be longer and the final price will depend on the type of restaurant you choose.
- How can I know more about the price for this visit?
We kindly ask you to contact us, but before that, you can read about our rates in the section “Terms and Conditions” on our webpage.
